Tatsuji Nagano:
As for the works of Masumoto, there are incredibly beautiful women like Starsha from "Uchu Senkan Yamato (Space Battleship Yamato)", Maetel from "Ginga Tetsudo 999 (Galaxy Express 999)", Princess Aurora from "Science Fiction Saiyuki Starzinger (Science Fiction Journey to the West Starzinger)" and more. Matsumoto tells that the woman who is identical to these beautiful women actually had existed.

Matsumoto Leiji:
I used to admire Marianne Hold in a French film called "Marianne de ma jeunesse" (1955) and Kaoru Yachigusa in a film "Sanshiro" (1955) when I was a kid. Besides, there is a "genetic" reason. Recently, a picture from the early Meiji era was found, and a woman who is identical to Starsha was in it. Her real name was Takako Kusumoto, who was a granddaughter of Siebold (German doctor who was in Japan in Edo era). It was found years ago, from the storehouse of Zenan-ji Temple in Shikoku region, which is our family temple. Takako died in 13 year of Showa era (1938), and I was born in the same year. I feel the curious coincidence with her. My ancestor had memorized Takako's beauty and it makes me to draw beautiful women through his "gene". I believe so.
